Launch of new scheme - Work Placement Experience Programme (WPEP)

The Department of Social Protection launched the Work Placement Experience Programme(WPEP) last week and the scheme is now available for application by host organisations.

  • The scheme provides an opportunity for employers to host a participant on a work placement for 30 hours per week for a duration of 6 months at no cost to the company.

  • The participant is paid an allowance of €306 per week by The Department of Social Protection.

  • The Work Placement Experience Programme is open to application from customers aged between 18-65 years of age who are in receipt of a qualifying payment for 6 months.

  • Work Placement Experience Programme placements are advertised by host organisations on www.jobsireland.ie

  • Customers apply directly to the host organisation to make an application for a WPEP placement.
